Fellowship
The Inspiration Fellowship is a cohort-based experience for Teach For America staff to experience reinvented learning systems and see new possibilities for education in the 21st century.
WHY Inspiration
The last few years have brought renewed attention to a reality we’ve known for some time: our public education system needs rethinking. As education leaders, we’re charged with imagining a future of learning that is just, inclusive, and responsive to a changing world.
But our conviction and clarity in this future needs fuel. Innovation and change calls us to look broadly for what’s possible, get inspired from unlikely places, and to use those sparks to stoke hope and action in our work. And let’s be honest – this can be hard in the face of unprecedented turmoil in the education sector.

WHAT:
Together, we will go on a journey of exploring inspiring learning models from across the world and using this fodder to sharpen our point of view about what excellent learning looks like and requires. In doing so, we’ll build up our ongoing inspiration practices – habits that can constantly evolve our thinking and reignite our commitment.
FOR WHOM:
This coming year, The Reinvention Lab is partnering with The Inspiration Project to pursue provocation and possibility alongside a cohort of 30 TFA staff members from across the country.

Expand your view of what is possible through virtual visits to innovative learning environments and consider implications for you and our work in three cohort virtual gatherings.
Use the inspiration visits to sharpen your own point of view about what the future of learning can look like and consider implications for your own role.
WHEN:
Fellowship Commitment:
- Join 3, 2-hour cohort gatherings, which will punctuate our year together. These virtual spaces will focus on refining our inspiration practice, synthesizing what we’re learning from innovative learning environments, and applying those lessons to our work.
• Sept 22nd, 11:30 - 1:30 PST
• Jan 26th, 11:30 - 1:30 PST
• June 8th, 11:30 - 1:30 PST - Attend at least 3 of 6 Inspiration Field Trips hosted by The Inspiration Project. We will join education leaders from across the country in these virtual windows into diverse learning models. Each experience is organized by a theme, ranging from youth-driven learning to practices from across the globe. Check out the dates + themes of those experiences here.
- Keep the conversation going. In between these spaces we’ll lean on a cohort slack channel to share reflections and additional sparks you’re discovering, ensuring that we’re building an ongoing inspiration practice, not just blips of exploration.
